fashion don’ts

WHAT NOT TO WEAR…

Please stay away from wild or loud contrasting patters such as bold black/white stripes or crazy graphic prints. It is very distracting to your face. The eye wants to look at your clothes and not you.

Girls… please avoid short skirts and shorts. We do a lot of variety in posing and will be very limited with the short skirts. You can wear them but we will be more limited to what we can do.

Girls… if you are “blessed” or just  don’t want to show cleavage, PLEASE do not wear low cut shirts. We do a lot of poses where you are leaning forward, so check your outfit in the mirror leaning forward to make sure it passes. It will be additional retouching to hide cleavage.

Avoid tight or wrinkled clothing as neither looks good in a photograph and both are difficult to retouch. Bring clothes pressed and on hangers. Don’t come and pull them out of a bag.

Girls… avoid tight cap sleeves. No matter how thin you are, everyone’s upper arm is bigger than their face and will be distracting in photos.

For girls with deep side parts… If you hair is in your face, your eyes will not show in your photos. I know it is in style, but it will only cut into your session time if we have to constantly be fixing your hair. PLEASE bring hairspray or pins to keep it back. I love the occasional natural shot with the hair in the face but never for the traditional shot.

tight cap sleeves make upper arm the same size as face…

the contrasting big patterns of the stars distracts from the face

the bright white tshirt under a dark shirt is distracting

if you don’t want to show cleavage, wear higher tops. try your poses laying down at home

distracting large, bold stripes

the white peeking through the neck and bottom are very distracting

graphic tee’s are sometimes ok, but often too much

once again, stay away from the high contrast large stripes
