WHAT TO WEAR…
Bring a variety of clothing choices. Try to include clothes for different seasons. Don’t think that just because it’s summer that you can’t bring a great chunky sweater or fun jackets and scarves.
Long sleeves are the best choice. If a lot of upper arm shows, it will be distracting to the face. Not to say that short sleeves, tanks and sleeveless are not ok, but just don’t bring only that.
I LOVE layers and textures! Have fun with your outfits!
Solid colors are a good choice. I don’t mind pattern if it is subtle, small and soft. Sometimes the pattern can be fun and whimsical. Just remember that darker, earthy colors will show your face off the best. Bright colors will distract from you.
Make sure your outfits are something you are comfortable in. They have to be your personal style. It is good to bring different styles of clothes so you have variety in your images. Such as a fun vintage look, a black dress or sun dress, a classy dark sweater, and every day look that’s totally you, a layered look, a funky or trendy outfit, an old prom dress to have fun in, your sport or hobby outfit (with accessories), or a couture, sophisticated look. Just some ideas.
Don’t forget we LOVE accessories too! There is nothing that expresses unique style such as fun jewelry, scarves, hats, shoes & flowers. Be creative and give your photos that extra character.
Girls… make sure you bring appropriate undergarment for each outfit. Strapless nude bras are your friend! Try on your outfits before your session so you know everything fits right.
Guys… Please bring dark t-shirts to wear under dark shirts/sweaters and light t-shirts to wear under light shirts/sweaters. A contrasting undershirt does not look good and is distracting. Shaving is recommended unless you are going for that scruffy look.
